Gil Hautois was born in 1969 in La Hestre, Wallonia. He practises figurative painting, inspired by everyday scenes. His vibrant and positive colors exude an energy that touches each of us and never leaves us indifferent: the pictorial and narrative power of his work unfailingly provokes emotion.
He lives and travels in Wallonia, naturally making it one of his sources of inspiration. He gradually developed a predilection for the representation of our heritage (cultural, industrial, folkloric, etc.), which honored as him the "Walloon Talent" give by the French Parliament in 2017.
While he has left the canvas, his talent as an illustrator shines through in numerous compositions: from small bottle labels to 10-meter urban stickers, his inimitable and singular style continues to appeal to our sensibilities.
By playing with colors like an emotional leitmotif, he continually places the person who probably moves him most to the center of the canvas: humanity.
